The Immersion Retreat | South of France
May 18th - 24th, 2019
Join Michelle and Kelsi on The Immersion Retreat, A Journey for the Modern Woman. Listening to our intuition can feel foreign to many of us, a part of us that may even feel lost. This journey to Chalabre, France - a medieval village in the foothills of the sacred mediterranean Pyrenees - is a time of reclaiming, of purpose, and of learning how to deeply care for the self. Through ceremony and ritual we will explore asana, breath, mantra, self care and heartfelt self exploration. An experience for those desiring to gather with insightful women in reflection, inquiry and studentship. An experience that is deeper than a retreat and lighter than a training. Our genuine desire is to have you leave with the tools to create your own ideal sadhana that invites you to feel integrated and whole.
"The house has the feel of a vast, ancient temple."
In a walled garden, massively constructed from river stones, the walls extend their roots deep into the earth. The house breathes with the seasons and makes palpable a love for her guest.
Yobaba, known for it's bohemian style and warm welcome, is located in Chalabre, a medieval village in the foothills of the mediterranean Pyrenees in the very south of France - a region of stunning beauty and fascinating history.
When we're not in practice, you can spend time relaxing in the walled garden, walk our labyrinth in meditation, or head to nearby Lac Montbel for wild swimming.
“The food dances a clever line between hip and healthy.”
Scrumptious, colourful, alchemical.
Beautiful vegan food remains firmly at the center of everything they do at Yobaba.
Food on the retreat is prepared by Gertrud and her team. She considers it an art form. The delicious creations please the eye and quickly re-balances the digestion.
The food is vegan, sugar and gluten free, much of it raw, some of it cooked. Gertrud’s flavours are inspired by Asia, Africa and Europe. She is best known for her raw breakfasts and seriously decadent raw deserts.
Food allergies can be accommodated for! Simply let us know.

There is also a second smaller and more rustic Shala slightly hidden behind the flowers near the garden space.
